The Swanage TC Group officially adopted as a Sub Group of the Swanage Railway Trust

We are pleased to announce that after several months of negotiations, The Swanage TC Group was, at a meeting of the Swanage Railway Trust Council of Management on the 30th of August, officially adopted as a Sub Group of the Swanage Railway Trust. This will be further reinforced by the imminent signing of a 99 year lease of the Unit to the Trust.

Our restoration plan was also approved.

Not only does this guarantee our Unit a permanent home at the Swanage Railway once restoration is completed, but it also opens the door to the many benefits of carrying out the restoration as part of a charitable trust. This includes gift aid on any members and supporters donations.

We are planning a meeting open to all our members in the next few weeks to explain this new arrangement in detail and to explain the restoration plan and we also hope to make another exciting announcement within the next few weeks, so watch this space!
We thank you for your ongoing support.

First AGM successfully puts us on the right track

The first AGM of the Swanage TC Group on Saturday the 13th April 2013 was a great success. There were 12 attendees, and apologies from several other interested people who were unable to attend.

The managing committee and officers were proposed and elected as follows:

  • Chairman Dan Bennett
  • Deputy Chairman George Rashbrook
  • Secretary Tim Buck
  • Treasurer James Cox
  • Membership Officer Tim Buck
  • Technical Officer James Cox
  • Publicity/Marketing Officer Luke Farley

The constitution was approved and can be seen on the website soon. Various plans for restoration were discussed, and it was agreed that we will aim to initially restore a 3TC, with the fourth vehicle being completed when funds and resources permit.

The Swanage Railway Trust have discussed the possibility of signing A 99 year lease of the TC, which would enable us to claim gift aid on donations.

There was a call for volunteers to help with publicity over the Swanage Railway diesel gala weekend (10th-12th May 2013), as the Swanage TC Group are running a publicity stand and giving out leaflets, so if anyone can help, please contact us via the website or Facebook.

4TC Update

After a long period without much going on things are moving behind the scenes. The original founders of the group are being spoken to on a regular basis to find a way to get the restoration under way during 2010. I hope to post some more info in the next few weeks.

Cheers

Richard

Blog created for the Swanage 4TC Group

Today I have set up this blog. Hopefully, members of the Swanage 4TC Group will start to use it to record their thoughts and experiences, and any news about the preservation of 'our' 4TC unit, and 4TC units in general.

To become an 'author' on this Blog, please email me webmaster@4tc.org.uk
